Who will review the abstracts and what type of presentation will selected abstracts be accepted as?
An international panel of reviewers will review all submitted abstracts and late breaking abstracts. Selected abstracts will be accepted as either oral or poster presentation.
Will I receive feedback on my abstract?
No, feedback will not be provided on submitted abstracts. All abstract decisions are final.
Do authors submitting abstracts receive financial contributions?
Authors submitting abstracts do not receive financial contributions to their travel or commitment in the program. Click here for further information about travel grants available.
When will I know if I have been accepted in to the program?
Author notifications will be emailed by 24 April 2016.
When was the deadline for authors to register for the Congress?
The author registration deadline was 15 June 2016. If you are a presenting author and you did not register before this date, your abstract is no longer in the program.
Do authors receive briefing notes prior to the Congress?
Yes, Authors will receive briefing notes prior to the Congress via email and will be available on the Congress website.
Do authors receive accommodation?
No, Authors are responsible for booking their own accommodation. For more information click here.
Will my abstract be included in the program book and electronic abstract book if I have not paid my registration?
No. You must have registered and paid by the author deadline to be included in any publications.
What are the dimensions of the poster?
A0 is the size of the poster 841mm x 1189mm.
What is the presentation format? And when is this required by?
Presentations should be provided in PowerPoint 16:9 dimensions. Presentations will be required to be uploaded onsite at the Congress in the Speaker Preparation room 24 hours prior to your presentation time.
Why didn’t I receive my notification email?
You may experience some issues receiving mail coming from our server. Because we send out a large number of notification emails, some mail servers will treat our messages as spam and will block them.
To ensure that you can receive future mail from our server, please ask your IT department to white-list our mail.
Please note that you can view your notification letter directly from your account. To do this, just login to the system after the decision has been made and all information will be there along with a copy of the email.
How can I print my abstract? Is this possible?
To view and print your abstract, log in to the system, click on the preview icon that is next to your abstract. The preview page will open, click on the Print button.

I want to add items to my registration, how do I do that?
Use your access key to log into your profile to add additional items such as dinner tickets to your registration.
Do I need a visa to gain entry to Australia?
Yes. All visitors to Australia must have a valid visa to travel to and enter Australia. It’s recommended to allow at least 6 – 8 weeks for visa processing. For VISA information please download the following information factsheet from the Australian Immigration Office.
Are there any travel grants available?
The application deadline for all travel grants has passed. If you have applied for BioLegend, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and ICI-AAI travel grants you will be notified of the decision before the end of April 2016. For all other society travel grants please contact please contact the societies directly.
Can I bring my child/children to ICI 2016?
Children of any age (under 18) are welcome to attend ICI 2016 if accompanied by a registered adult. Children may not attend and are prohibited from entry into the Exhibition and the Congress Dinner. Children can enter a session or meeting area only under the supervision and guidance of a registered adult and are to be seated next to the adult at all times. Please note that if any child becomes disruptive to speakers and/or participants the venue staff, event planners and/or the organising committee will have the right to respectful ask that the registered adult and child leave the session or area.
Is there childcare available at ICI 2016?
Onsite child care will not be provided during ICI 2016. If you require a child care provider during the meeting, you may contact your hotel concierge for recommendations*. Attendees are advised to make such enquiries in advance of the Congress.
