Academic Text: Tips for The Writer

An academic text and a scientific article are particularly distinguished by a certain style and clear writing requirements.

One day you’ll face the challenge of writing an academic text. Such as creating something with a detailed technical rationale or writing a scientific article to order. However, unlike ad texts, web publishing, or blog entries, an academic text will require a separate approach. It’s manifested in a severe prose style and rigid framework.

Structure

Complexity

Traditional copywriting works on the principle that the simpler the text – the better and accessible it is. Simplicity and availability are not a priority area for a scientific text. In addition, academic texts, as a rule, don’t spell conventional wisdom out for anyone. These texts are confidential information that only the inner circle of competent people knows.

Slang and Jargon

You admit yourself that this is unacceptable for a scientific prose style. Even those words that are often used in specialized circles shall be replaced are replaced in the text with a common language, with definitions as appropriate to avoid any misunderstandings.

Academic texts are divided into three types:

  • Popular Scientific
