What is social worker job description?

Social workers help clients handle everyday life problems. They often assist clients who have issues caused by neglect, abuse, domestic violence, mental health, and parental substance abuse. Clinical social workers may also diagnose and treat mental, behavioral, and emotional issues.

Why should you be hired for this role for social work?

‘Social work is extremely important. I’ve always been interested in helping people, and for me the value of helping others to improve their lives surpasses any monetary gain. So, on a personal level, I have spent large portions of my childhood in contact with social workers who have changed my life for the better.

How do I protect myself as a social worker?

Remain calm and respectful with your clients. Do not raise your voice. Speak to them in an understanding manner, but maintain your authority and firmness should the situation call for it. Do not let them know if you are scared.

Can I say no social services?

You have every right to refuse any social service people admission to your home. They would have to go away and get police assistance + court order (they would have to provide enough evidence to a judge it was an emergency, that your kids were at risk).
