The UK Mission also works to improve the way the UN works. It plays an important part in efforts to reform the Security Council, improve the UN’s finances and strengthen the UN’s capacity to deal with economic and social issues, peacekeeping and conflict prevention.

Do employees of the UN pay taxes?
The pay of UN employees is not tax free. All employees must pay staff assessments of from 28 to 34 per cent of their actual gross salary. UN employees who are US citizens pay US income taxes like any other US citizens. These taxes are paid out of the staff assessment.
