Telstra Modem Telstra modems are not locked to the network. But, they do have a fairly closed firmware on it. Unless you’re tech-savvy, you may have a hard time getting it configured to work with any other provider. So, you might be better off using an approved router for your current ISP.

Re: Internet constantly dropping out It issue could be anywhere from the splitter, the Cable outlet or the network. You can try swapping the filter out or trying only the modem connected to see if this helps with the drops etc.
