Can you study single units?

Single unit study is undertaken as a non-award course. A non-award course enables you to complete single units and gain access to a full degree. If you decide to study a degree with us in the future, you may be able to receive credit for non-award courses that you have completed.

How many units is full time study UWA?

For standard undergraduate degrees, an annual total of 80 credit points is equivalent to a standard year of full-time study (one EFTSL). A standard course of 10 credit points will be 0.125 EFTSL (10/80), so eight courses is a standard full-time year load (8 x 0.125 = 1 EFTSL).

If you intend to study full time and complete your degree in the minimum time, you should enrol in 40 units each Semester. A domestic student is deemed to be a full-time student* in an academic year if the student undertakes a total load of 60 units or more in that academic year.

How many points is full-time?

We work out your study workload by using a measurement called EFTS (Equivalent Full-time Student). Usually, 0.125 EFTS is equivalent to 15 credits or points at your education provider. We use EFTS for a number of reasons when looking at whether you can get a Student Loan or Student Allowance.

    Is 12 units a lot?

    Depends on major, but the average full time student is taking 12 to 15 units. For a 4 year plan, 2 semesters a year. 15 units a semester would probably be ideal, but more than likely they fall close 12 units due to the average student taking more than 4 years to graduate.
