There’s no need to seal the gilding wax. I find it dries really well and hasn’t rubbed off any of my pieces. If you find it fades over the years, it can easily be touched up by applying a little more.

This French Gilding Wax by Cire A Dorer is amazing! It’s the closest thing to the look of real gold leaf but much easier to apply with a small brush or with your fingertip! Like all wax, gilding wax cleans up with mineral sprits. If you get a bit in an unwanted spot, wet a Q-Tip with mineral spirits and wipe off.
