You’ll receive support throughout your training and when you undertake your volunteer role. We find that most people complete the full adviser training in 6-12 months, although this will, of course, depend on how much time you are able to commit to it.

The work, although tiring, is often rewarding. If you like helping people find solutions to their problems, this job is for you. The team is extremely welcoming and laid back, and I felt very comfortable here. The training and support is excellent , and the pay isn’t horrendous compared to other contact centre roles.
Who can help me with benefit claims?
There are some agencies who will assist people in filling up claim forms, especially those who are disabled, mentally ill or elderly. Some of those agencies include Age UK, MIND, Citizen Advice Bureau, Rethink and Disability Centres. For those who have Support Workers they may also be able to assist.
What qualifications do you need to work at the Citizens Advice Bureau?
You don’t need previous qualifications or specific experience and will receive training and support to help you be able to carry out the role. Remember that the application and interview is is a two-way process.
